Remembering Janda Singleton-Johnson

SImple Amazing, Janda D. Singleton-Johnson was called to eternal rest July 4, 2019. Janda was the beloved wife of Eric Johnson and the mother of Kandace Jackson. Janda was the sister of Renee Singleton my sister from another mother, along with Tanya Singleton and the dearest and loving daughter of Herbert and Bernice Singleton. Other dear and caring relatives and friends came together at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 11115 Kinsman Road for the home going celebration for one of the most loving and charismatic personalities personified with professionalism, character and humor always residing on the precipice of greater accomplishments. The attributes and true character of Sis. Janda D. Singleton-Johnson will be missed by those who knew her as well as others who will never experience the spirit of this particular soldier of the cross. We pray for this family and a very close knit group of friends who surrounded her life.

We further express our appreciation for David Smith, the pastor of the Full Faith Gospel Church of God in Christ, and Mayor of the City of North Randall. I salute the First Lady of Full Faith who so eloquently spoke of the relationship and sisterhood of Janda.

It is a remarkable story of acceptable sharing of time as well as caring of interest. It is an extraordinary story of trust with the ability to love beyond the walls of a selfish spirit. On Saturday, Mayor Smith pulled of his Mayoral robe in exchange for pulpit attire as he delivered a most inspiring eulogy of not only a business associate but a personal friend. We salute Mayor / Rev. Smith for a job well done.

We further express our appreciation for the services rendered by the Gaines Funeral Home with Kay Gaines who has been and remains a constant professional.

Down through the years, Kay and the Gaines Funeral home have been at the forefront of personal and professional Funeral Services throughout the City of Cleveland.

I have attended many homegoing services and I have always been amazed at the personal interest and service she provides. Kay and the Gaines Funeral Home is indeed the home of personal and attentive service.

Kay serves as a beacon of light and hope to the less fortunate. It is refreshing to know that it's not always about money, but service to humanity.

We are also grateful for the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church and pastor Jimmy Gates who has a heart for the community and the people of God. Pastor Gates is a man of God who is indeed a part of everyone’s extended family.

Thank you Pastor Gates for welcoming and allowing the community to share with the Zion Hill Family with so many large homegoing services. You and the Zion Hill Church family are greatly appreciated.

“Now unto him that is able to keep us from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty and power, both now and ever. Amen.“
